About The Inn ...
Mira Monte Inn was built in 1864 and was named Mira Monte (behold the mountains) in 1892 by its wealthy Philadelphia owners. It has always been an elegant summer retreat for the favored few who could afford the luxury of summering in Bar Harbor. Mira Monte is situated on 2 acres of landscaped grounds and is graced by porches, bay windows and private balconies.
The house with its beautiful wrap-around porch, and the grounds with paved terraces, the various gardens, and sweeping lawns testify to a love of style and beauty. Pleasant common rooms include the parlor and the library. There is an excellent piano which guests are encouraged to use. Fireplaces are used on every cool afternoon, from Spring through Fall.
About The Rooms ...
All guest rooms have private baths, remote control cable TV, air conditioning, queen or king size beds with firm mattresses and private porches or balconies.
