Northeast
Harbor, Maine

Sea Princess is locally owned and has been operating out of the calm and
sheltered waters of Northeast Harbor on Mount Desert Island for over 25 years
earning the widespread reputation as the finest boating value in the area. Each
trip is narrated by experienced professionals and offers a scenic tour with
emphasis on the abundant wildlife and unique geology. Spectacular views abound
of seals, nesting osprey, eagles, porpoise, loons, eider ducks, quillemots,
terns, and even an occasional whale.
The panoramic vista of the entire chain of mountains making up the Mount
Desert range forms a spectacular backdrop. The Sea Princess passes by
picturesque Bear Island Lighthouse and travels up Somes Sound, the only
glacial-carved fjord in the Eastern United States. Along the route of each
cruise many aspects of Maritime industry are evident including boat building
activity, exotic pleasure yachts, working lobster boats, and quaint fishing
villages. These memorable cruises will undoubtedly be the highlight of your
vacation.
The morning cruise, sponsored by the National Park Service, is narrated by
an official Acadia National Park Naturalist. Both afternoon cruises are narrated
by Mel Everly, a retired Park Naturalist with over 20 years of experience
conducting the Sea Princess Cruises. Mr. Everly earned his Master's degree in
Biology and Ecology from Valparaiso University and taught Biology for over 30
years. Captain Rob Liebow, the owner of the Sea Princess and a former Biology
teacher will be your host for the Sunset Dinner Cruise. Rob has captained the
Sea Princess for over 25 years and brings great enthusiasm, experience, pride,
and a wealth of local knowledge to this trip.
