Cross Country Skiing

You can cross-country ski and snowshoe just about anywhere you like in Acadia National Park. Here are some preferred routes. There are approximately 48 miles of carriage roads that are great for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There is also nearly 41 miles of unplowed park roads which are available for winter recreation, however, Cadillac Mountain is not recommended as the mountain can be icy and have patchy snow cover. Many of the hiking trails can have exposed rocks and tree roots and are too steep for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
