The Willows at Bass Harbor is built in classic post and beam construction. The Inn sits on 3.5 acres offering space to retreat from a busy day in Acadia National Park, shopping, or on the water. The rooms are tastefully decorated with private bathrooms, telephones, cable TV/VCR, and some rooms have fireplaces.
While the rooms are very comfortable, you may want to spend an evening in
front of our woodburning fireplace in the living room, curled up with a book and
a glass of wine or enjoying conversation with friends..
Room 1 is our Waterview Suite, with vaulted ceilings framed in antique beams,
a sitting area, fireplace, TV/VCR, telephone, and private bath. The view from
this second floor Suite changes each time you look out the window, as the tide
moves in and out of Bass Harbor.
Room 2, on the second floor, looks out over our croquet lawn, has a queen
size bed, TV/VCR, telephone and private bath.
Room 3, also on the second floor, has a queen size bed, fireplace, TV/VCR, telephone, private bath and also has a view of our championship size croquet lawn.
We also offer, on the first floor, a large room with twin beds, waterview,
private bath, and all our standard amenities.
Spend a morning or an afternoon on our carefully tended and manicured croquet lawn.
For the novice, we will be offering lessons on all levels. Our nationally ranked instructor, Larry Stettner, has been both singles and doubles champion of the prestigious Claremont Croquet Classic, held at the Claremont Hotel since 1976, also holds numerous titles throughout the United States.
For those with experience behind their mallets, we can arrange a game with a
member of the Croquet Club, or you can just spend time practicing your
strategies and shots.
The Willows at Bass Harbor Guest Cottage borders the woods and overlooks Bass Harbor from a private deck.
The Cottage is fully furnished, including linens, as well as telephone and
cable TV (should you choose to make contact with the outside world). The Cottage
has a full bath and a half bath, a large living area, galley kitchen with
microwave/convection oven and dishwasher.
